Welcome to SOMPeople® for persons with superior oblique myokymia
According to statistics, it is estimated that approximately
6,000 persons have this disorder, worldwide.
6,000 persons have this disorder, worldwide.
Well, we think that this number must be greatly underestimated. Over the past ten years, we have made contact with more than 150 people who have SOM, or have a family member who does. Since these are people who have computers and know how to use them to find us, we believe that there are many more SOMers 'out there' who are still struggling to find a diagnosis, a little help, some decent information and the support they deserve.
Whether you are newly diagnosed, or have been struggling to cope with your vision problems for a long time, and have just stumbled across this page, then you have found a group of fellow sufferers who are waiting to welcome you and offer understanding. To join with other SOMers, please visit our support group at (Depending on this format, you may have to copy and paste the URL.):
